You will find that you are getting the same course wherever you take one of our training courses (i.e. the CELTA is the same whether you do it in Bangkok, Chiang Mai or Phuket). There are some differences between the CELTA course and the Introduction to TESOL course and you’ll find these outlined below.
One of the most important factors to consider when choosing English training courses is whether they lead to an internationally recognized qualification or not. Without one, you might miss out on opportunities teaching English in the country of your choice.
Of the few qualifications that are internationally recognized, the CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) is one of the most well known. The University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES) externally assesses every course and all successful graduates receive a certificate issued by Cambridge.
In Thailand, ECC is the only school to offer courses leading to this certification. Courses take approximately four weeks to complete and are taught from ECC's Big C Rajdamri Branch conveniently located in central Bangkok, on the tropical island paradise of Phuket and in the northern city of Chiang Mai.
The course is very rigorous and candidates should have no other commitments at the time.
The cost of the CELTA course is US$1600. There is an early bird discount (10% off the full course price – making the cost US$1440) available for candidates who have been accepted on the course and pay the full course fees 45 days before course commencement.
